INSTALLATIONS AND SETUPS
Do you have existing aquarium equipment and need it setup?
Do you want to purchase new equipment and have it setup?
We offer a wide range of options for aquarium setups, from simple to large custom installations.
We consult with our client on type of setup desired. Existing equipment is setup such as aquarium, stand, canopy, lighting, plumbing, etc.
Additional equipment is also purchased if needed for desired setup.
Then we install liverock, decorations, fish, gravel or live sand, etc. after adding 100% premixed RO/DI freshwater or saltwater. Next, bacteria supplements and conditioners are added to speed up the cycling time of your aquarium and reduce livestock stress.
As your aquarium cycles, we monitor your water paramaters weekly. Once all traces of ammonia and nitrites have elevated and returned to their normal zero state and nitrates have been reduced to safe levels your aquarium will be considered cycled.
During this setup phase there will be various algae and diatom blooms as well as possible cloudiness as the aquarium adjusts and ages. This is normal, as the various benefical bacteria colonies grow and process the toxic chemicals such as Ammonia, Nitrites, etc.
After this setup phase, normal maintenance cycles can start and additional livestock can gradually be added to desired levels.
NOTE: Livestock, live rock, additional equipment are charged in addition to setup fees and may or may not be required for a specific type of setup desired. All water used is RO/DI and premixed for specific freshwater or saltwater needs unless otherwise specified by client.
Length of setup period varies by each aquarium setup. Water quality parameters dictate when setup period ends. On average a setup takes about 4 to 6 weeks, but may last longer or shorter depending on your individual situation.
RELOCATIONS AND TRANSPORTATION
Our relocation service involves moving your entire aquarium system and as much
of your original water as possible. This allows the aquarium to be setup again at it's new location with minimal stress on your aquatic life.
We can move your aquarium no matter if it is across the state or from one room to another.
Here's what we do: Arrive at original site location. Tear down and package aquarium, livestock, water, etc. Transport all itmes to new site location. Setup aquarium, livestock, water, equipment, etc.
While we take as much of your original water as possible. There may be times that additional water is required. If so, it will be an additional charge.
Billing rates are charged by the hour and are measured from our office to new site location, and include travel to original site location, teardown time, transportation and setup at new location.
NOTE:Once aquarium is setup at new location, there may be some cloudiness. This will subside within a few hours or days as your aquarium settles in.
WATER CHANGE ONLY
Maybe you are not looking for a complete maintenance visit. We still have you covered. Our water change service is just that, we change out some of your water
with new water. A typically amount is 25% of your total water volume. We provide this for freshwater aquariums as well as all levels of saltwater aquariums, ranging from fish only to complete reef systems.
